Frequently Asked Questions...
What is the cost of shipping a vehicle?
Our rates are based on several different factors – size of vehicle, distance of transport, the working condition of the vehicle, time of year transport is required and the general market price for the particular route requested. By filling out a quote form on our home page, we can better estimate the exact costs.
When should I book transport?
While we can work with some short notice requests, it’s best to give as much advanced notice as possible. In order to ensure the vehicle will be delivered on time, schedule transport as soon as you have all the details.
Do I need to do anything to prepare my vehicle for transport?
Yes. You will want to remove any valuable items from your vehicle. The insurance policy does not cover personal items left in the vehicle. Items such as laptops, iPods, clothes and jewelry should be removed prior to pickup.
Where do I need to drop off and pick up my vehicle?
We offer door-to-door transport service. We will pick up and deliver the vehicle to your door anywhere in the United States. While we do not require you to drop off or pick up from a terminal, in certain situations we may request to be met in a nearby, safely lit location.
Do I need to be present for pickup or delivery?
We do require someone to be present for the pickup and delivery process. Either you or someone you designate is required to be present to sign the Bill of Lading and observe our driver’s vehicle inspection. Once the inspection is complete and the Bill of Lading is signed, you may leave.
What type of car inspection will the driver perform?
All pre-existing damage to your vehicle will be noted prior to your car being loaded. If there are any pre-existing conditions, please let us know ahead of time. The same inspection will be repeated upon delivery. The Bill of Lading will outline all inspection findings. If any damage is present upon delivery that was not there during pickup, the driver will either fix the problem or reimburse you for the damages. However, we operate under a high standard of quality and damages are not common.
When do I pay and what payment methods are accepted?
We do not collect any funds upfront. Our deposit is due on the day the carrier picks up your vehicle. We accept many forms of payment, all major credit cards included for the deposit. The remaining balance needs to be paid to the carrier at delivery in either cash, cashiers check or money order.
How long will it take to have my car picked up?
We can have your car picked up typically within one to four business days of placing the order.
How long will my vehicle shipment take?
Delivery time can depend on many factors, including distance of transport, weather, and road conditions. However, we generally allow one to six days for delivery once the vehicle is picked up.
Can I track my vehicle while it’s in route?
We will provide you with information including estimated pickup and delivery times. Also, in some cases, we will provide the driver’s cell phone number.
Are there any circumstances that could cause delay in my delivery?
Naturally, delays are a possibility. The most typical reasons for a delivery delay are weather, traffic and problems with the carrier truck. However, even though we cannot control these factors, we work very hard to keep you updated on the situation, and deliver your car as promptly as possible.
Is my vehicle insured during transport?
Absolutely! Your vehicle will be fully insured throughout the entire shipping process. If a claim must be filed, there are no additional charges to you. Our driver will cover the deductible in the case of an insurance claim.
What does the insurance policy cover?
The insurance policy will cover your car from the time of pickup, until delivery. It will cover any damage done to your vehicle, such as dings, dents, scratches, damage from loading or unloading the vehicle and any damage that happens during transport..
Are there different types of vehicle transport to choose from?
Sure. We offer open air transport and enclosed transport services.
Is there a difference in the cost of open air and enclosed transport options?
There will be a price difference between the two shipping methods. By filling out a quote form, we can make a better estimate of your particular costs or please call us at 206-687-9434 for Sherry
Should I use an open air or enclosed carrier?
Open air carriers generally work just fine for vehicle transport. However, in certain cases, an enclosed transport vehicle may be needed, such as with specialty vehicles or vehicles worth $50,000 or more. While open air is generally a very safe method of vehicle transportation, an enclosed transport can be chosen for extra precaution. Also, there is a premium for using the enclosed shipping method.
